Default Relationship between EXIF and ICC/ICM profiles

I'm having some trouble fully understanding the relationship between EXIF and ICM profiles. I think I understand ICM's, and when I get my i950 I'll experiment a bit...

What software is using the EXIF info? The printer driver? Will it still use EXIF info if I use something like Qimage with appropriate ICM to process the photo?

Thanks,
Marc

Not controversial enough I guess to get a reply...

Guess I'll have to try another forum...

EXIF info is irrelevant if you're using ICM profiles. In fact I don't know what use the EXIF info is (which is why I didn't reply :-) ), apart from letting you know what the shooting settings were!

I'd suggest asking at the forums at http://www.dpreview.com - there seems to be more traffic there...

Well exif is basically a color profile stored in every picture that lets the program know all the settings used to take the picture uncluding the camera that took it. This allows some printers to tune directly for the camera that was being used to match the colors you saw with your own eyes when you took the picture.
