Does anybody know why Canon no longer offers the ip8500? From the reviews I have read, this printer was a very nice one, equal to the i9900 only at a smaller size.

I see they are still available in Europe but no longer in the States.

Canon is offering a $100 rebate for the i9900 (I bought one for photos and CAD). I suppose that with the rebate the i9900 is the logical choice.

I was doing a bit of shopping for a 9900. Can you direct me to that rebate?

Thanks

My local CompUSAoffers the rebate - it is directly from Canon. On another thread, it mentioned an even lower price from Costco (online).

Check CompUSA's site - $399 after rebate:
