I am thinking about buying the Canon MP 830 . I have hundreds of photos (mostly 4X6)I want to scan and digitize to put on cd/dvd. My question is can I use the ADF to scan the photos onto my harddrive at a decent resolution to later burn to cd/dvd? Thanks for any help & info.

To Rickab,

While I don't have the MP830, I do have the slightly similar MP730 with an ADF.
And in the ADF process, the paper undergoes a 180 degree bend around what amounts to a small diameter rod. I am not sure if a heavier stock photopaper would do that bend well, or if you would get better resolution off the flatbed scanner.

Maybe thats a question for Canon--under questions for purchasers.
