Default Screwed up my Epson 1200...Help!

I have 2 left feet and am all thumbs, plus I never learn my lesson!

I was getting some ink smudges with my old 1200, and decided to try a lint free cloth to clean rollors, etc. I decided to blot the sponge-like part that is supposed to sit under the cartridges when they are in their home position.

The outer end of the part came unhooked, and when I tried to rehook it a little rubber strip in front of that part also came free.

What do I do now? Is this something I could fix, and how? Or am I doomed to send the printer to Epson?

Does anybody here have a manual that shows how to get the cover off and replace these parts?

Default Epson troubles

I recently did a search on "Epson Service Manuals" and came upwith a guy who has just what you want. He sells service manuals for a range of Epson printers, at about $10 per download. They are in PDF format. He is at http://www.otd.com.ua/. I was able to repair a faulty "uneconomical repair" Epson 760, simply by getting the correct combination of button presses. I am sure you will be able to sort your printer with the correct manual.
I hope this helps.
