I followed Idle's excellent advice and fitted a waste ink container at the rear of my Epson R300 inkjet printer. After blotting sheets and sheets of ink from the waste sponges I performed the 3 button push and hold exercise to reset the counters on the ink sponges. My printer made a horrible grinding noise and now doesn't show the ink levels in each cart on the Monitor utility when I print, they are all greyed out.

I've gotten around the service required message and no doubt saved loads of money on Epson service but now I can't see the cart ink levels, and worse still when one runs out, will I know which one?

Have you thought of uninstalling the driver and then re installing. If you are running XP then you should set a restore point before attempting changes. You never know.

Oh my gosh Love these smiley's

Let me know how you go

Aitch3:

Install the SSC service utility and check if it can read the levels.

As Teddy Bear said, a re-install might also fix it.
