family project site... share... create then change for indiv

I've been searching through posts... but I'm still confused and would deeply appreciate any advice!

Our family needs a site to:

1.share photos... upload AND download.

2. create books and calendars... where it would be nice to have a "save as" feature. This way they could be created by one family and then personalized for the other families without having to re-create the whole project.

I've used shutterfly for books... but hate being limited to their templates which don't fit my every page need. Also can't download photos.

My cousin created an awesome family calendar on snapfish.com but it had to be ordered as is... and we wanted to "steal" it and change it to better suit our family before we cordered one. That was not possible.

We now have 2 huge projects for the 90th and 85th birthdays of sisters... and before all the downloading starts (which should have happened weeks ago)... I would like to work on the "best" site for our needs now... and in the future too!

If you could provide even the slightest insight... I would be so thankful!
