I was using Photoshop 7 before I had a camera capable of shooting RAW.
Apparently, Adobe Camera Raw is an optional plugin with PS7. I looked on the Abode website but only saw updates to the pre-CS versions of CR, not the actual base program. Does anyone know if I can still get the Camera Raw plugin for PS7, and if so, where?

Adobe no longer sells or supports the plugin. Even if you buy a used copy from someone, which is legal, it won't work with newer cameras. Try http://www.pixmantec.com/products/ra...ssentials.html. HTH, John

Thanks, cjm. Is there somewhere out there where I can find out which cameras it does support? And how would I find a used copy if it does support my camera (Nikon cp 5700)?

Rawshooter would be cool, but it only runs on Win XP. I can't run XP without first getting a new computer -- yes, mine is that old 'n wimpy -- something that I don't want to get into at this time.

I am pretty sure that it does support the cp5700, that is about four years old now.

Yes, the Nikon Coolpix 5700 was supported.

The list of cameras supported by Camera Raw Version 1.0 is near the bottom of this page:

http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/319291.html

It was $99 when it was released:

Yeah, I got Nikonview with the camera, but the plugin is limited to adjusting only the white balance and exposure.

Since the initial post, through the generous assistance of a Photoshop enthusiast, I have been able to acquire the old ACR plugin!
