I'm looking for some imput on the Spyder 2 Express to calibrate my monitor.

Currently I just use Picasa to edit and print my photos and since I just got a new monitor I seem to be having problems getting the printer and monitor to match. The monitor is a Samsung 2433bw and I know that may not be the best monitor for photo editing but its what I have now and I will have to make the most of it.

Has anyone used the Spyder2express and if so do you think it was worth the $60 it cost.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

I own a Spyder2express and it works great, you should get a closer match between the screen and your printer, providing the printer is properly calibrated.

Keep in mind Picassa isn't color managed, so it won't use any profile you have for your printer. If I were you i'd also invest in a copy of Photoshop Elements (or any other ICC aware editor)

*edit* picassa doesn't use the monitor profile either, but colorvision provides a color table loader that adjusts your windows colors on startup, that should get you reasonably close.

I use Spyder2express for calibrating monitors, but Spyder2express does not calibrate printer outputs.
