Default Printer with low ink use...

Anybody here have any idea what printer has low ink uses that I can purchase. I like to have the single cartridge, some photos, but mostly black and white.

I'm hearing that the Kodak printers are getting the best gas mileage now, and a quick check at our local Sams club proved that they had the least expensive ink. May be my next printer, I don't print my photos, just black and white docs for business.

I have decided now not to print color photos color ink to expensive. If I had to print photos I will take them in. So I need a black in printer for documents etc... I heard the brother HL-217ow has excellent low black ink consumption. any other black printers anybody now the has low use.

I am using Canon IP4000 and Canon IP4700 - both very good printers.
Price of one DIY refill - takes 1 minute = € 0.20 ... original ink cartridge ~ € 12.99 ... laughing ... no visible difference.
