Default Printing Formats?

I shoot in Canon RAW.
I process RAW images with Canon's Digital Photo Pro Software.

From there, I export to JPEG and finish with Photoshop Elements.

I'm thinking about exporting to TIFF, not JPEG, since TIFF does not compress files JPEG does. I have read some about JPEG 2000, but no one seems all that thrilled with JPEG 2000.

I print my images with MPIX (Miller Labs is for professionals. MPIX is Miller for amateurs), so I must upload all my images to their website. I'm including this information just to let you know I'm not using the local drug store's instant printer for my printing needs.

Question: Can I upload TIFF images to an online printing service? Will I see better printed images if I print from these larger files?

As always, I appreciate you sharing knowledge about all things photographic with me.

May you have a safe new year's eve and a prosperous 2013!

Faithfully Yours,
FP

You will need to check with your lab if they accept TIFF. As you know, TIFF files are much larger than JPG and may pose a problem with uploading - I used a flash drive to upload a photo (pano) at a lab because of a 95Mb file size. Most ISP servers have a file size limit.

FYI, a pro friend does everything in JPG - I don't quite agree with him, but he's the pro and is very sucessful.

Happy New Year!
