I am have several 36x24 posters printed. The posters includes text and a digital camera image. The image only measures about16 x 20 or so. I have a sony camera that is 3.2 mp. Is it possible to have this image print in a good quality. What can I do in photoshop to enlarge it with out losing quailty? The printer is asking for the poster to be in 300 dpi. thanks

Gregg Kelby (in the book Photoshop for Digital Photographers) says there's a special way to increase file size up to poster size without losing much resolution. Instead of scaling up directly from 16 x 20 to 24 x 36, do it in increments of 10%. Gregg says the results are way better when you scale gradually, and 10% seems to be something of a magic number.
