Hi there,
I'm having a bit of trouble selecting a good quality A3 photo printer for medium volume work in an office.
I've looked at the HP5550DN & the Ricoh CL5000 but I'm not sure if either will give me the quality I need.
Basically I want best possible quality with low running costs.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated,
Regards,
Fionn.

I use a Epson Stylus 2200. This is a close to a professional printer as you can get . Cost of cartridges are medium range. It is possible to adapt with an external tank to reduce ink cost. Reason for going to the Stylus 2200 vs the others is the availability of ICC profiles through Epson and quality paper. Canon, HP, and Ricohmakes some good printers, unfortunately ICC profiles and compatible mediums are not readily available and software for making your own is expensive if available. I doall of my wildlife proofs in A3 size on Epson Matte using Epson ICC profiles and get professional results. I have done portraits on Epson Glossy and Satin with equal results. Epson also offers watercolor paper and canvas for this printer. The canvas is superb for gallery results. Only problem noted with the Epson 2200 and other epson printers is you must keep them clean and use at least weekly to keep the nozzles from drying up.
