I have been trying without success to use Qimage to print with my HP 9180 and the DuoBright Matte Deluxe paper from Inkjetart.com.

I have their profile that I have tried to use. I have tried many combinations including having the profile off without success.

I thought that the proper way was to choose the proper paper in the printer settings and then choose the profile in the Prtr ICC option. This resulted in brash colors! Double color management?

I have set application managed color profile vs adobe 1998.

I have decent success using the Photoshop Plug-in.

Any help with the settings in Qimage?

Any help is appreciated.

For a profile to be useful, it must come with instructions on how to use it including the exact print driver settings to use, whether they recommend using "perceptual" or "relative colorimetric" intent, etc. If the profile came with no instructions (which I take it was the case for you), there's no sense using it. Giving away profiles with no instructions is like buying a new car and having the salesperson hand you a bolt, saying, "Here. You'll need this." Printer profiles are simply useless without instructions.
