I've downloaded the trial after reading nothing but praise for Qimage. I think it'll be a steep learning curve but seems well worth it!

A couple of really basic questions (please excuse them).
1. When I set PRTR ICC do I choose the printer or the paper profile?
2. Am I right in thinking I should adjust my image in PSE5 but not sharpen, then open Qimage, sharpen and print from there?

Many thanks in advance, I've learnt loads from here already

Your printer profile must be one that is appropriate for the printer, paper, and ink you are using and it must come with instructions on what settings to make in the driver. Without knowing what printer, paper, and ink the profile is made to address and instructions on how to set up the driver settings, the profile cannot be used effectively.

On editing images, that's a matter of personal preference. Qimage has a lot of "whole image" corrections like saturation, brightness, contrast, levels, curves, and so on so you could use Qimage for those. The only reason you might need a photo editor is if you want to do complex cloning (anything more than removing small blemishes which Qimage can actually do better than cloning).

Thank you Mike, I think I'll just stick to the print functions for now then move on to the editing side!
