Default Welcome

Welcome again to the Remote Control forum. We at Harbortronics have helped numerous folk and companies with solutions to remote capture of images, often including time-lapse, such as building construction, arctic ice formation, Puffin colonies, crop growing, coral reef activity, ocean bottom pipeline survey, squirrel feeders, garden flowers, you name it!

If you have general questions about remote control of a digital camera, whether just for shutter release from 2 feet away, or from the deck of a ship at sea, this is the place to get answers!

Default Hi Mark -

Hi Mark,
Glad to see you here on the "new" forums...

Just a quick question. I see the new Nikon CP4500 will use USB rather than serial - Since it will probably be the next useful tool for digiscoping, are there any plans to support USB with the DigiSnap or other line - or is that feasible?

Best regards,

Lin

Hi Lin,

All of the cameras that suport the MC-EU1 can be controlled just as well (better? ) by the DigiSnap's. Niikon dropped all mention of the serial port capabilities of their cameras ever since the 995, but they all have serial ports (900, 950, 990, 995, 700, 800, 885, 5000, 4500, 5700).

The DigiSnaps will work with the new cameras with no changes required.

Default Thank's Mark!

That's great - just from reading their specs, I didn't realize that they still had serial capabilities - good to hear that they didn't shoot themselves in the foot!!

Best regards,

Lin
