I need fast image transfer to my PC because I want to use Digital Cameras instead of Industrial digital camera for much better image quality!

I have tried with a Coolpisx P1, it is USB2 but just connect to it, the real transfer rate I experimented it is about 4 - 9 seconds for each 1 megabyte of image:sad:

But the USB2 is 380 Mbs,

I have tried with a cam corder canon XM1 who was Firewire and it worked fine but the resolution too low:sad:

I am asking if anybody knows about a digital camera Above 6 Mb who is capable of really transfer an image evry second using firewire or USB2.

Thanks a lot

Use separate USB2 or Firewire reader, cameras capable to even half of card's speed are rare.

I would look at any Canon with Digic II that still supports Remote Capture. I believe the S80 supports it.

My G6 takes awhile to download RAW images, but it's not that bad with JPEGs. I like Breeze PSR Remote. It seems more stable than Canon's freebie software. According to Breeze's website, they should support the S80 by now.

My reasoning here is that the Digic II cams support USB 2.0 rather than my G6's USB 1.1. Then again, we hope Canon will bring a new G series out at PMA later this month.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I am using a S80 and can get a pictures every 3 seconds. In linux I can get images a bit quicker using libptp by setting the USB packet size bigger, and I have not yet had any problems. (not much of a speed increase though). Also, you can save some more time by doing a focus lock before you begin shooting.

On a side note, I have found that Canon's SDK does not work with the S80, does anyone have any suggestions?
