Hi there , I have a newbie question .

I'm trying to resize a 800 x 600 jpeg into 176 x 182 Jpeg.

I want the EXACT pixel so it fits just nice into my cell phone. But everytime I'm resizing it just won't give me the exact one , either a little more or a little less.

What do I do to get it exactly at 176 x 182 ??
Thanks .

is this in photoshop?

if so....it's not letting you choose it, because the ratio is different

so, you have a choice...lol, crop a bit off the longer side...(the side that is off when you type the correct in..)

or uncheck the "constrain proportions" box...then type in your numbers

the second choice is a lot easier...but will stretch the photo a bit...

hope this helps

Hi , no I'm not using photoshop, but I think I'll stick to method 1 as I don't mind cropping.

But how do you crop the file such that it will end up resizing at exactly 176 x 182 ??

Thanks .

IrFanView (freeware) will show you the current "crop" selection in pixels as you move mouse..I just tried it to make sure as I don't do it very often...and once you select a size that is a multiple of desired, you can use it to resize to a particular pixel dimension
