Please forgive me if this is posted somewhere and I was too stupid to find it, but what is the standard picture size for posting to this forum? At home I have only dial-up (sorry!) and have become accustomed to posting pix about 800 x 600 tops and about 100-200 kb but interpolated cubically (I use GIMP 2.2). I've noticed that on my monitor at work the pictures scroll way off my monitor.

Please tell me what size and interpolation are acceptable here.

Thanks,

f

Everyone with 1024 X 768 screen resolution or lower have to scroll to read the text once someone posts an 800 pixel wide photo in a thread. My feeling is that you should limit the images to around 600 pixels width if you just want to show an image. For image editing threads it is worth the scrolling to have an image large enough to work with and see results. But to show what your dog looks like everyone is probably happier with 600 pixels width.

There is no standard. Everyone seems to roll with the punches no matter what you post.
