Breaks my heart , proves buy in haste relent at liesure is true, Just put on ebay my brand new ROLLEI DR 5100, lovely little camera I bought it only days ago and only to find it has a very short zoom only up to 85 mm, I bought it for its 28 mm short end its fast shooting response, as well as its 1 cm close macro and it takes AA batts , BUT i was not aware it only goes to 85 mm, been looking for one of these for ages but when i found one hard to find in uk then i bought it the zoom is too short to use as the family camera we all feel . can any one advise on a small family camera that does 28 mm or less up to say 110 mmor more to save me more problems with my good lady she is not amused .:O

Hi,
have a look at the Ricoh R1/R1V/R2 or Rollei dr4/dr5. As far as I know, these are the only small digital cameras that offer 28mm wide angle. I am currently looking for one myself, so if anyone knows any other cameras with a decent wide angle, it would help me, too. Matthias |
