Evening all,
Just wanted to share that the new WB500 from Samsung is absolutely amazing. I ordered it from Conrad.nl last week and received it last Friday and I've been having a blast with it sofar. First of all, I'm not a professional photographer, not even in the slightest. I bought the WB500 for 3 reasons: 1. I wanted a good Point and Shoot camera with at least 10 X zoom which does everything automatically as far as settings are concerned. 2. I wanted on which could fit in my jeans pocket and is still able to record 720P HD movies with stereo sound using a codec which allows me to recordlong movies without a file size limitation on a single card as possible (the WB500 is lmited to 29 minute files and can record up to 2 1/2 hours of HQ HD movies on a single 16GB card which is is good enough for me). 3. I wanted a camera which allowed me to change every single setting just like a professional one, should I feel the need to learn these things and "get" more professional in the future. Well the Wb500 does all this and more. The movies are AMAZING quality with good stereo seperation and a mind blowing image quality thanks to the proper steady shot. The camera allows me to set more settings then I could hope for and also has an awesome Automatic function so I can just point and shoot it without thinking about anything. And the added features like beauty mode has proven to be a VERY good and fun assett as well... In any case, I can provide photo's and movies for those who want to see it and probably will do so some time this week. Goodnight all ! Palm |

Many thanks.
I Uploaded a short video clip shot outdoors when the sun was just setting: http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=5TV4WH9M And also a set of images shot during the weekend, all shot using the Auto Mode, except for one which I used the sunset predefined scene setting for on the camera.. No pictures were edited afterwards on a computer or on the camera itself (which has a few nice edit functions by the way) http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=U8MDU5MF If there are any requests for specific situations or scenes let me know. Also if there are any requests for the others modes (like the manual setting which allows things like apperture etc to be changed) please tell me which settings to use as this will also help me know and learn my camera better ![]() |

Another set of photo's shot during my lunch break.
http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=R7EBIVLU All shot in Automatic mode without any editing. I experimented with the Optical and Digital zoom some more and have now decided to drop the Digital Zoom altogether. The quality is quite good, but I can get that by cropping a fully optically zoomed image too. The weather is quite bad here saddly and it's freezing outside, which is terrible for taking pictures as my finger were frozen after just 5 mins ![]() In any case, Enjoy  |

Thanx PalmBeer for the samples and the link. I'll have a close look at them tomorrow morning. I really appreciate this as you must be one of the first owners of this model in Europe. If you get a chance to take some portrtaits or any pictures of people I'd really love to see them too.
Thank u again and enjoy your new camera! |

I'll try to convince my colleague for this today
![]() On a different note... I started a Blog on which I'm going to post pictures I shot regularly. I did this for myself so I could hopefully see a learning curve over time as my knowledge of shooting in manual mode improves ![]() http://palmkesphotoblog.blogspot.com/ |

That's why I wanted to post here. I've been following Steve's Digicam for years now and my last 3 camera's were bought based in the excellent reviews here. However for the HZ10W/WB500 I was unable to find any proper review material thusfar. Consideringthe Wb500is based on the NV24HD and NV100HD, I figured the movie mode would be good and considering the testshots on the Korean Reviews I was convinced this was the camera for me. So just for you, here are 4 portrait shots unedited, directly taken with the WB500 in 7 MP Widescreen mode. http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=UQCJD47L I used 4 different modes for this, shot from the same vantage pointthanks tomy colleague here at work - Automatic Mode - Automatic Mode with Automatic Flash - Scene Mode: Portrait - Beauty Shot Mode Kind regards, PB |
