Default Can't import video in Final Cut Pro from Samsung TTL225

So I was excited to get this Samsung TTL225, since it does 720P video in .MP4 format. I thought it would be easy to import into Final Cut since my last camera also used the .MP4 format and worked perfectly.

Well.. This has blown me away. When importing video from the camera, I get "general error, Out of Memory."

I thought.. well, maybe there is something about the format that Final Cut doesn't like. So I tried re-encoding the video with Handbrake (essentially FFMPEG) and still won't work. Here's the weird thing, I know for a fact that Final Cut will import videos encoded with handbrake. I have hundreds of them I've encoded over the years and they all import fine. But if it is a video that originated on this camera, it simply will not play.

So I thought maybe it is the resolution, frame-rate, or aspect-ratio. So I had the encoder crop it and make it a plain-jane 640x480 video at 29.97 frames per second. STILL DOESN"T WORK! By this point I'm pulling my hair out.

Here's some other food for thought. Quicktime player will play any of these videos, including the original video right off the camera. So what is it that Final Cut Pro doesn't like about it?
