Well there you go, yes it does stop and start the filming with the remote. The good news is I just tried it with the camera in direct sunlight and the remote worked fine.

Very good to hear it works in direct sunlight. You may have to point the screen so you can be sure the camera is recording. Next thing you'll be using the zoom function while gliding
