Sorry if some answers are already posted. I'm about to order a HD1a camcorder as snowboard helmet cam and wonder if one of the other HD models from sanyo might be better..

I know thatI will have to turn the display around or use a business card between display/cam to record but thats okay. Or does another *HD* XACTI allow recording while the display is closed?

At the moment I think the HD1A is the best because it's cheaper than others, weight is only 90% of the hd2 and it probably makesbetter pictures when it's darker outside than the HD 700.I also don'tneed the hdmi interface or the special light mode of the HD2.

My plan is to use one of these mounts
http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/images/security/stand.jpg and put it with 3m tape on my snowboard helmet.

Anyone done that before or is there anything I forgot? I did that with a home made mount and an aiptek 2 years ago so I'm used to a bigger cam on my head

Sanyo closed shuts off, noticedwhen biking it was bouncy must be the Autofocus, in manual mode would be better.

av input and external vid would be best a lot safer if asked
