I own an HD2 but find it a bit bulky and am planning on getting an HD700 or its successor.

I have downloaded various video clips from different models, but it is hard to tell the precise differences because they are of different subjects. If there is a sample page showing the exact same thing filmed by different Xacti models that would be very helpful.

Can anyone who has owned or tested two or more of these models give advice on the real, noticeable differences in quality? I don't need to be filming in the largest size HD (since I resize anyway for web) however I do want superb quality even at a smaller size. Even making something smaller it still shows if one had a really good quality source or not.

Also if I am likely to find the HD700 a downgrade in any way from the HD2 this would be useful to know. I know the HD700 is a later model with X.264/H2.64 encoding, but obviously it is smaller with a smaller lens.

Feedback on stills quality would also be useful. Thanks in advance!
