Default Sanyo CS1 Dual Cam - FullHD video + 8M photo, 10x optical zoom

Currently world's smallest, lightest and thinnest Full HD (1920x1080) video camera with 10x optical zoom. Also an 8 megapixels camera. Video: MPEG-4 AVC / H.264, audio: ACC; will also support iFrame format.

See: Sanyo's VPC-CS1 Product site.

Available February 2010 for $299.99 according to press release / press release (on Sanyo site).

Sanyo VPC-CS1 Specifications sheet (PDF) (66KB). Looks like image sensor is effectively 3.3 megapixels.

Looks like an interesting camera and a nice price too. Why do they persist in misleading consumers with interpolated image sizes? For me the true 3.3MP images are still pretty decent for a camcorder but I guess they feel they have to constantly lie to sell these things. I don't care if they have the true size hidden in the specs, they know customers only see the headline and I guess they then pull the 'it's listed in the specs to cover themselves legally' stunt.
