Default Underwater Xacti solution?

I was hoping to record some underwater footage and wondered whether to splash out (no pun intended) on a waterproof Xacti solution
or maybe to buy some waterproofing for my current HD1010?

I have found some waterproofing for the HD1000 at
for a reasonable price but have also seen this cheap camera aswell which I wouldnt worry as much taking under water!

Im not sure what route to take!?
I dont particularly want to take my HD1010 underwater in some non Sanyo branded plastic covering but know the images from the 12MP camera ive posted above wont be that good either!

I dont really want to spend more than 50 on a solution to get some underwater piccies/video!

Many thanks.

That 12 mp camera is really a 5mp camera and the lens looks pretty low quality but for the money doesn't seem too bad. You'd have to search and find reviews on that. Same with the plastic bag solution, I'd try to find reviews. Sounds like there is a test procedure you do to make sure there is no leakage then take the plunge. If you do use the bag let us know how it works out.
