Does anyone know what model cable releases I can use on the SD9? I need a cable release that will allow shutter to go halfway for focusing etc.

Does the electric cable release allow you to hold shutter halfway.
Is the remote radio or high frequency or inferred? Basically I want to have full control and attention on the tripod with a telezoom while my finger is on the cable release shutter, autofocus quick and shoot. I know a mechanical cable release works, however they don't screw into the socket of the SD9. Anyone know a mechanical cable release that works with the SD9. I prefer mechanical over electric and the SD9 does do mechanical. I just can't find a cable release that fits the SD9. |

Apparently one of Canon cable releases works and its half the price of the Sigma version.
...I made my own cable release for about £5. Regards DSG |

Thanx, over a year later I'm still alive!
I actually picked one up (the canons) at Central Camera in Chicago (great camera store if you are ever in the Chicago area, they have everything old and new) about a year ago. Boy did you dig deep to find this thread. I thought if no one responded in a week, I'd never get a responce. |

well there are still a few of us Sigma users still around, but haven't seen you post for a while on dpreview. if you have a look at the sigma forum on dpreview there are links on how to make up your own cable using easily obtainable parts (Maplins in the UK and Tandy which i think is now called radio shack over there.
