Faced with packing lightly on 2 and 3 month contracts lecturing on digital cameras on cruise ships, I opted to give the new Tamron 18-250mm lens a spin on my KM 5D.

No, it is not a very bright lens. I have a nice KM 50mm F 1.7 to cover that area. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the superior resolution and sharpness of the Tamron 18-250mm lens. Here is a sample photo. As I also own the Sony A-100, the new lens will also do double duty on the A-100.

I have heard that the optical quality of the Tamron 18-250 is much better than the KM 18-200 I have.

I'm glad it's working out well for you.
