Hey guys, I just received the new Sony HVL60M flash which is Sony's new flagship flash which they tout shoots wirelessly with certain Sony cameras of which the A99 is listed.....problem is I cannot get the flash to fire when off-shoe.....has anyone been able to do this?
The instruction manual states to attach the flash then enable wireless via FN menu then remove flash for true wireless flash capabilities but the flash simply wont fire!! I've setup the flash for wireless as described in the booklet with NO success and find this most frustrating!!! Has anyone been able to setup the HVL60M flash with the A99 for wireless flash capabilities? If so- might you please describe in detail the exact steps necessary to accomplish this? I've spent $550+ for the flash and am extremely disappointed I cannot get the flash to trigger wirelessly- please help! I want to use the flash off-camera for outdoor shots for the added fill light that really enhances outdoor portraits- but am at a total loss of how to do this with the HVL60M. (PS- I do have a set of wireless triggers that DO work with the 6oM, I tested it but feel I shouldn't have to use them as this flash is supposed to do this natively without the need for additional devices to achieve this....I'd like to know if I were without the triggers this flash has the capability to make this work.) Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! |

You need something to trigger/control the remote flash. Use F20/F43/F58/F60 or an external trigger/control source.
Just like the A900/850. Last edited by baka; Nov 15, 2012 at 8:38 PM. |

However; there's now another alternative: http://www.frankdoorhof.com/site/201...robe-solution/
