Steve's review of the Z3 stated that the 1200 ring flash could be used with the camera while in supermacro mode.

KM website says - for both Z3 and the Z5 that I just bought - that the 1200 is not compatible with either.

the obvious problem that i see is that the lense has a 43 mm diameter and the ring flash hardware is 59 or 62 mm. MY QUESTION: can i get a step-up ring to couple the two?

second question: even if I do, will it work (that is, give me the correct exposure)?

Step rings are easy, just look at B&H. Shouldn't have any effect on exposure.
