In the instructions for the lens, it tells you how to attach the lens hood, but I don't know how to remove it (it's facing down in what I assume is storage mode - covering the focus ring).I searched google all over for this, but couldn't find an answer - I know it's probably a dumbĀ* question but if anyone can answer it, thank you!

To attach the hood, you turn it clockwise. To disattach the hood, you turn it counter clockwise. This is all when looking at the front of the lens/camera. Do this in manual focus mode, not auto focus. If the hood is on correctly, it should have a little detent that will make a slight click when going on or off. It is pretty easy to put the hood on crooked though which naturally makes it more difficult to get off. Best of luck!
