I've just come to use my 5D today and noticed what seemed to be a spec of dust in the view finder. I checked the front of the lens, which was clean, and tried a couple of test shots. Nothing showed up on the pictures so i am assuming that a spec of dust that got in when i originally fitted the lens has settled on the mirror.

Now my dilemma is, do i take the lens off and try to get rid of the dust or just leave it and hope it doesn't dislodge and go onto the sensor? Or could it be coming from somewhere completely different?

mount camera POINTING DOWN on tripod

wear a dust mask ($0.99 type)

dismount lens and use a blower bulb gently

(don't sweat the small stuff)
