I have a 5D and have the chance of buying one of the above lenses, (MACRO 1:1)with it being a 50mm lens, it will now be a 75mm lens when I bolt it onto the front of my Dynax 5D, how close will this lens have to be to focus? Will it show really close detail on insects? Hope you guys can help me. Oh, its raining ice in the UK at the moment.

Many thanks

Rob from DERBY, UK.

Maximum magnfication comes at it's closest focus distance, which is 18.9cm (7.4 inches). You can focus from further away, too (your subject just won't occupy as much of the frame if you're further away).

Some users prefer a working distance that's further away for smaller subjects. So, they may get a 100mm or longer macro lens instead, that allows them to get the same framing without a need to get as close.
