Can anyone shed some light on the subject of high noise and vibration from top fuel dragsters potentially damaging the camera sensors ? I have a 5D and don't want to damage it, if i decide to take it to the Winter Nationals in June

I had never thought about it, but i sure wouldn't stand behind one of them with my camera. that is the weirdest feeling i have ever experienced.

I suspect the stands would be safe enough.

I don't have a clue.

But, it seems to me that since the CCD is mounted on a "floating" (for lack of a better term) anti-shake system, that it would be less prone to damage from vibration (but, that's only speculation).

I'd be more concerned about damaging other components in a high vibration environment.

well, considering pro photogs shoot these sports as well, usually from a much better position than what youll have in the stands I doubt its an issue.

Then again, maybe they can just afford new equipment.
