Default Sony f-717 going haywire

Great camera, beautifil prints etc., but on a recent shoot the camera started turning off by itself, and wouldn't come back on unless I jiggled the lens or gave it a gentle smack. Then it started turning on and off by means of the control button, while the on/off lever was useless. I finally got the on/off lever to work again by pulling it forward and letting it go so it would slam back. All the while, it continued to take great pictures (when it would stay on) including flash, manual exposure, full auto, etc. It seems like the electronics got somehow confused and now so am I. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Send it back to Sony. There is a fault in the power supply controls. Sony must fix it, not you.
