Default which is better? Sony DSC-P10 or V1?

hey guys...
need some open advice here...
I'm thinking of trading in my DSC-p7 for either a P10 or a V1

since both have 5.0M, and VX, thats really the only 2 things I want to upgrade.

but now that the V1 has more features and controls, to me, I wouldnt think it would be that necessary to have them

for example, for a car, I prefer a auto, not a manual.
too much stuff to worry about.

and is there really a big difference with a carl zeiss lens compared to a sony lens? and which is better??

I'm also not to crazy about the 4x smartzoom, but...all those features from the V1 might can in handy. Or maybe not.

Is it worth the money on spending to buy a V1?
Or should I just stick to the normal functional uses of the P series???

thz a bunch

The only advantages I see in the V1 is night shot/framing. Will you ever use it? Ask yourself. The V1 is a fraction bigger as well. If you want a camera you can put in your pocket/purse the P-10 is better. I chose the P-10. With the money I saved from the V1 or F717, I was able to get a 256 MS Pro card and extra battery. I was also able to take my wife out to a nice dinner.

I have a DSC-V1, and chose it after doing a fair bit of research and reading many camera reviews.

I'd recommend looking at sample photos taken with both cameras and chose for yourself. The P10 has a great deal more noise than the V1, and outdoor shots have poor colour saturation.

Have a look on http://www.steves-digicams.com at the sample photos for both cameras, and compare the photos of the same subject.

Both cameras are good, but the V1 is better.
