Default Some manual focus help with P10

Today i finaly bought a digital camera and i couldn't be more happier with it. I'm like a little kid in a candy store. In my opinion it's definetly a bang for the buck, but i'm just an ignorant photography newbie so don't take my word for it.

Anyways, on to the problem. I've searched the manual forever on how to manualy focus the lens, but alas it's all to no avail. I'm trying to take a picture of a book's page with nothing but letters. The problem that i'm runing into is that the camera's auto focus doesn't work, the resulting image is blured and unreadable. Basicaly i can't find a way to manualy focus on the page.

Any tips and tricks are very apreciated, even the obvious things. It may be obvious to you, but remember you're talking to a newbie who has never owned a digi cam before so post it anyways.
