Default 717s in Moderate/Low Light Situation

The 717 is my fall back if the 828 isn't available by Xmas ... does anyone have experience with the 717 in moderate/low-light situations (say a firelit room at Xmas time). Any performance issue/tips. How does it compare to other models in such situations. Thanks

I spent Aug. in Europe, with time in Venice and Rome. In both cities there are numerous buildings where you can't use a flash and are definitely what you'd call moderate to low light situations. The f/2 lens is superb under these conditions, but it pays to +exp, and occasionally boost the ISO. You get to know what works. Low lighting in Xmas/fireworks etc. situations works equally well, but suggest you use a tripod!
