Default hx1 question

I recently bought a sony hx1 and am having an issue with printing pictures. The camera takes good photos and I primarily just use it on the intelligent auto setting. When viewing the pics on my computer they look nice and sharp, good color and all that. However when I try to print them I get these horizontal line artifacts no matter the color, lighting and other factors. I did a test (I also have a canon s2 is) and set up the same shot for both cameras. The printed photo from the canon was fine but that same photo had the line artifacts in it from the sony. Can anybody help me with this or did I just get a lemon camera?

It sounds like the camera is at fault. That is not a problem I have ever had with my HX1. As a cross check have several printed commercially and see if the same problem pops up.
