good hd, but over hyped, you can not pan with the high fps as the refresh rate of the evf will not keep up. You are also losing 1/3 of the light hitting the sensor. There is a tread on it already in the sony dslr forum. This is not something new. Canon had pellix film camera back in the 90's only difference is that they used a regular vf back then.
It makes for a really good HD camera with the dslr AF system for HD.

The A560 and A580 seems to be a nice photography tool.

Priced to sell and it is going to make a lot of noises when they come out in October. Full time life view plus HD video! The A55V (U.S. only model) has a built in GPS to record where you take the picture. All that for $850, a price that is very hard to match by the other guys. I can see a major price break from the other DSLR makers to counter this before they can deliver a new camera to match Sony's.

yes, it makes a heck of a HD camera with the full time. But only 3fps with liveview, not great for action, the 7fps and 10fps is more for their sweep pano. Think GPS is so overrated, it is just a buzz word. So all the current dslr still out shoots them for action with over 3fps.
The A560 ad A580 is actually a better photography camera. But allot of people will by it on the hype.

I think built-in GPS is not good - makes camera more expensive. If you switch on camera, GPS needs some minutes to find satellites.
You can use for EACH camera a little GPS data logger - saving 100.000 till some millions GPS data. A mouse click writes them automatically into EXIFs - better and cheaper than built in GPS (~ €/$ 50) My two data loggers ![]() ![]() Nice for holiday pictures :-) ![]()
