Default DVD-RW camcorders...

I am looking into getting a camcorder and I came across the Sony DCR-DVD200 DVD Handycam which looks really cool.

I was wondering what the pros/cons were to this new format. Is it better than miniDV? Would I be able to get a better miniDV camcorder for the same cost? And is it too new to spend that kind of money on?[/url]

Personally, I would just stick with tape, at least for now. The trend now seems to be towards hard disk based storage, rather than DVD. In the furure this will be replaced with solid state storage.
