Default UV filter for HX100V

I want to buy a UV filter for HX100V?
What size should I choose?
Is this the same filter as an HX1?
I would like to order from Amazon or Ebay, if available.

Thank you for your help !

Julie :-)

You cannot mount any filter to HX100 - you also must buy an adapter ~ $60. Private made, Sony doesn't offer such a thing.

WHY do you need a senseless UV-filter?

Some friends recommended me to use a UV filter to protect my lens from dust and water. Sometimes I take pictures on a boat.
You do not use any filter?
Your pictures are really beautiful.

I use (for other cameras) ONLY (if necessary) pol filters ... from China, $ 4 - $ 8
Some people believe, pol-filters for $80 - $120 are better.

Hehe. Let them their illusion/delusion Each (unnecessary) filter degrades photo quality.

Use an UV filter if you daily travel through Sahara, making pictures of Tuaregs, Fata Morganas or date palms in oasis.

How said: without special (not cheap) adapater you cannot use filters.

No, I use (with all my cameras) for 98.5% :-) only "A" = aperture priority.

Default Why Did You Use a Filter in this Case?

I am curious, since the HX100 does not have a fitting for it, and you gave some good reasons why not to do so.
