I have the Sony Cybershot DSC-P72 and when I try to zoom all the way the whole picture is blurry.

Can anyone tell me why this would happen? :?

Thanks for your help!!

Is this happening in bright sunlight? If it is and you are aiming at things with normal contrast I would say you have a problem with the camera. You might have to send it in for service.

If it is happening with limited light it is probably due to camera shake. You need more light with more zoom because the camera lets in less light and because longer focal lengths need more shutter speed. Full zoom is only f5.6 where wide angle is f2.8. That means the lens lets in 4 times the light at wide as it does in telephoto. Plus the standard for shutter speed means you need 1/120 second to get a sharp picture at telephoto but only 1/40 second to get sharp pictures at wide angle. You need good light to take telephoto shots with that camera.
