I just got the W1 yesterday and immediately started taking pictures in auto mode. I noticed some pictures were a bit out of focused (Some other posts have said the same). I have a possible cause for this. I think its the W1'sMulti point AF "feature". In the P mode and I changed the AF to center AF. Once I did this, the pictures were much better. I'm guessing multipoint AF is looking in too many places(5 to be exact) Just a theory. Your thoughts?

Also, when I downloaded pictures to my pc via USB, the AF setting gets reset to multipoint. Quite annoying!

I haven't really noticed the problem with mine (and I have been looking out for it with all the comment on here), but I have set my camera to monitor rather than the default setting so it is focussing all the time. I'll live wit the extra battery drain if it improves focussing speed.

The very few out of foucs shots I have had i think were caused by just pressing the shutter all the way rather than pausing tpo let focussing complete. It hasn't happened since changing the setting - although I need to check it hasn't been reset by connecting the USB port now

I'm also finding that I get more consistent results with center focus on my W1.
