I recently bought a Sony F828 and popped in a CF card I had in my PDA and a
new Memory Stick Pro Duo. Took a bunch of pics and had no problem seeing
them on the cameras LCD. My computer has slots on it's face for various
media types and the photos showed up fine on the monitor as they did when I
connected the camera with the USB cord. All seemed well. Then I read a few
posts indicating that I should format the cards in the camera. I did so and
now the cards are no longer recognized in Windows Explorer. They still work
fine in the camera, but it seems I've cut my options for viewing in half by
formatting in the camera. What harm does it do to format them in the
computer instead?
