I am having trouble getting my W1 and Canon i450 inkjet to communicate.

They both support the PictBridge technology. - Which I thought was a standard across manufacturers.

Following the Canon instructions:
I turn the printer on, plug the USB cable in and turn the camera on.
(Yes the camera is set to PictBridge mode)

An orange light flashes on the printer.

If I press a button on the printer, the screen of the W1 says Connecting to PictBridge device. But doesn't get much further. The message disappears and the orange light keeps blinking.

Am I doing something wrong or are these devices just incompatible?
