Extended warranties are a ripoff. Simple as that.

Yah extended warranties are worth it definitely! Especially if you want to sell your camera later. If you list your camera on eBay with a warranty (which at least in Canada and the U.S.A. is transferrable) it is more likely to sell and at a higher price too. That way you can buy a newer model later.

You never know when your camera will break, or if it will, none of my sonys have ever broken! I've had 7 Sony digital cameras to date. No problems at all but I'm still glad I bought an extended warranty.

Just our of interest, how does the normal sony warranty work? Is it international? I just bought a camera but it doesn't seem to have a warranty card or anything in it...just wondering if it had any sort of warranty!
