I just got a Sony DSC-L1, would a high speed Mem Stick Pro duo make a difference for this camera? I'm interested in speed that's involved when pictures are getting written to the memory stick (not the speed in transferring pictures to a PC).

The high speed description states that it supports read and write speeds up to 80 Mbps. The regular stick states minimum write speeds of 15 Mbps. How do I figure out the L1's write speed capability?

The L1 is a beginner camera so it's not worth the highspeed card unless you like recording video clips

While the conclusion is right (you don't need High Speed) the explanation is not.

You can handle 640x480 30fps video on a Memory Stick Pro, soyou still wouldn't need High Speed for video modes.

Like so many of these questions, it's all been discussed before. Odds are you'll get a better answer if you use the Search and look at some of the old threads.
