Default Does transferring Sony pics this way degrade them??

have a Sony digital camera and I transfer my pics from the camera media thru a memory stick/floppy adapter. Recently I have been copying my digital pics right from the adapter devise right to my CD burner. They seem to come out alright I just want to make sure that I'm not degrading the photos. Any ideas or comments

As long as you use a straight copy process there is no degradation of the images. The only way to degrade a digital image is by loading a JPG into an editor (or viewer) and then re-saving it as a JPG. Each time you open and save a compressed JPG image it will get a little more compressed. This is -not- true for uncompressed images in the TIFF format though.
