Ha... I have figured it at last and thought I would share it with those others like me who did not understand the book!

The mode dial is also a button!!! You can push it in as well as turn it and that is how you can change EV when in program mode. Ie .if that window in the side of the shot is glowing then you can turn the EV down a bit and it looks so much better. Well that is what I discovered anyway ...I am quite new to it all but it is fun experimenting.

I downloaded cyberlife off of this forum ('Cyber-shot Life tutorial' Page: 1 2Tue Nov 15th, 2005 06:30 am by GenitalBen) This is great for teaching someone what all the buttons are for and how to take good photos. Its not for the H1 but it is similar and easy to understand and gives you hints on settings to use for all different types of photo.

If anyone knows of any other good teaching materials then please let me know.
